Can you understand the reason for The Following in the first couple of episodes?

Sure, that is very hard to understand in the first couple of episodes in The Following Season 1 dvd. I agree with other people who say the connections between characters are implausible, but then again the series sets a tone that strongly implies that the gaps will be bridged by flashbacks or other means. This however, is arguably the best new show on basic TV right now. Support FOX and I expect the next episodes.
